I finished the 100 Level Challenges, No Rebirth Challenges, the 2nd 24h Challenge, and 3 of the Blind Challenges. I get progression will be painfully slow but I haven't actually needed to use the rebirth mechanic yet. The current effect of Number NGU is multiplied by your current Rebirth Time Factor (which you can see on the Rebirth screen). The tooltip in the NGU screens shows you this modified value. If it is about the challenge itself, it disables all of the bonuses from equipment for the duration of the challenge, including adventure stats so you will need bonuses from other sources to compensate.
