My name is Dan and I live in Minnesota,I have a question on a 1985 Roosevelt d-dime. I just got into this coin collecting within the last year and I'm having a good time with my new hobby! One thing I've found is it is hard to get the straight answer on coins and theirs errors/price! So many different websites that say opposite of each other!!The coin has suffered damage, coins like this are often called dryer coins because the damage is often the result of being caught in a clothes dryer for an extended period of time. These coins corrode in all kinds of ways. I think this coin, and many others, may have gotten the trace lettering or numbering corrosion from sitting on top of or under another coin in that situation. Here it would have to be a partial 8 from another coin because as Justbob pointed out the S mint mark wouldn't work.This is weird. Tell me someone else see's these things lol.
