Haven't used the Long Glaive yet but I think I'll like it for the flexibility of using as a lance one handed with a shield in the other. I've been using the Glaive like that and got lucky in a few battles charging far ahead of my line with my shield raised against projectiles hunting the enemy commander and disrupting their formation.

Polearm = polearms. 2 handers = 2handed axe/mace/sword. Two-handed skill does not affect two-handed polearms. It's less confusing to just consider any polearms not as 2H.
