These are so damn rare that I don’t want to have to find a new one—likely in a new world for just this one purpose. There are 2 types of lakes in frost caves. Frozen lakes and thawed lakes. There is currently no way of thawing frozen lakes. Thawed lakes are much rarer than frozen lakes and the cave fish spawn in these lakes only.

The Frost Caves didn't spawn in our game. We explored several mountains far from any previously explored area. We also looked at the map over at www.valheim-map.world where they should be and there are none at the marked locations.There is no mod that "adds" frost caves.
