A heads up like 'if you end your turn there, you're going to get hurt' is nice but taking one or two damage should not be a big deal. It honestly didn't come up that much. You do disarm all of them because it says disarm as part of the attack. You also get 1exp for each target. Regardless if you end up adding an extra target or not, it always uses one charge on backup ammo when you initiate the ranged attack. You therefore also gain 1exp for each of the next 4 ranged attacks after you put backup ammo on. 4.
